Ridgewood, NJ – January 5, 2010 – Law Technology News (LTN), the leading publication covering the legal technology industry, has chosen Tom Burke as a winner of the first-ever LTN Lifetime Achievement Award. Mr. Burke is Chairman and CEO of World Software Corp, which makes the popular WORLDOX® Document Management System (www.worldox.com) software program for law firms and other organizations. He founded the company in 1988 with his wife, Kristina Szandtner Burke.
Mr. Burke was selected to win this prestigious award by Monica Bay, Editor-in-Chief of Law Technology News. He shares the award with two other leaders in the field: John Alber of law firm Bryan Cave and M. Thomas Collins, formerly of Juris. Burke will accept the award on February 1, 2010 at a reception for the LTN Award winners during LegalTech New York.

Throughout his career, Burke has been honored by many organizations for outstanding growth, success and entrepreneurial skill. Under his leadership, World Software was named to the Inc. 500 list twice and to Deloitte & Touche’s Fast 50 and Fast 500 lists twice. Burke was also a finalist for New Jersey’s Entrepreneur of the Year in the Master Entrepreneur category. At the product level, WORLDOX won the Gold 2009 LTN Award for Document Management this year and has won many such awards in prior years.
In November 2009, Burke assumed the more strategic role of Chairman and CEO at World Software, having been its President since 1988. The company’s new President, Ray Zwiefelhofer, was promoted to the position having served as Executive Vice President. Mr. Zwiefelhofer noted, “I greatly admire Tom Burke and I am so glad that Monica Bay selected him to win the LTN Lifetime Achievement Award.
