Use the File menu to work with documents, profiles, versions and relations.

Open |
Opens the selected file in its native application (the program used to create it or the default choice for viewing that doc type.) |
Open With |
Opens the Windows Open With dialog, where you can use a recommended program or browse for other choices to use when launching a file from Worldox. |
View |
Opens the selected file in the Worldox Viewer window. |
List |

Compare |
Opens the File > List > Compare dialog, used to select and compare different file versions with supported comparison programs. |
Versions |
If there are multiple versions of the selected file, selecting this menu choice opens a new worklist showing file versions. If not, you see the File > List > Versions message. |
New |
Opens the Confirm Version dialog, where Worldox asks if you want to create a new version of the highlighted file. |
Tag |

All |
Selects all files on the current worklist. |
Above Highlight |
Selects the highlighted file plus all files in the current worklist above (preceding) it. |
Below Highlight |
Selects the highlighted file plus all files in the current worklist below (after) it. |
Invert Checks |
Reverses current selection(s) in the worklist. |
Untag |

All |
De-selects all files selected on the current worklist. |
Above Highlight |
De-selects the highlighted file plus all files in the current worklist above (preceding) it. |
Below Highlight |
De-selects the highlighted file plus all files in the current worklist below (after) it. |
Opens the File > Email dialog (provided you have a MAPI compliant email program) where you can add selected file(s) as attachments to a new email message. |

Check-Out |
Opens the File > Check-Out dialog, where you can check out selected files from the network to local mirror folders. You can edit checked-out files locally and then check them in as appropriate. While files are checked out, other users cannot edit them. |
Check-In |
Opens the File > Check-In dialog,where you can check in files that have been checked out, returning checked-out file as replacements of the originals, or as new versions. You can also simply cancel their checked-out status. |
Security |
Opens the Security Classifications dialog, where you can set or change security for selected file(s). |
Copy |
Opens the File > Copy dialog, where you can copy and classify (profile) selected file(s) by filling in profile fields. If file(s) are as yet unprofiled, you may see the Select Profile Group dialog first. |
Move |
Opens the File > Move dialog, where you can copy and classify (profile) selected file(s) by filling in profile fields. If file(s) are as yet unprofiled, you may see the Select Profile Group dialog first. |
Delete |
Opens the File > Delete dialog, where you can delete selected file(s) and specify whether to make them recoverable by sending them to the salvage bin, also have the option to render them unrecoverable via shredding. |
Archive |

Move To |
Opens the File > Archive > Move To dialog, where Worldox asks if you want to archive the selected file. |
Restore |
Opens the File > Archive > Restore dialog, where Worldox asks if you want to restore the selected file, removing it from the archive. |
Legal Hold |

Opens the File > Legal Hold > Move To dialog, where Worldox asks if you want to move the selected file to Legal Hold. |
Restore |
Opens the File > Legal Hold > Restore dialog, where Worldox asks if you want to restore the selected file, removing it from Legal Hold. |
Relate To |
Use this menu choice to relate the currently selected file to the last file selected in Worldox. (For a more flexible, visual way to relate (associate) files, use the Relations document tab instead.) |
Send To |
Opens a submenu listing the Send To shortcuts available at your site. These may include links to PDF conversion programs, to specific folders or to other applications. |
Close |
Closes the Worldox application window. (Worldox remains running on your system when you exit; a Worldox logo remains visible on the Windows System Tray). |
