Worldox uses global numbering when creating new documents. When a document is saved, it is automatically assigned a unique document number (Doc ID). Document numbers are eight (8) numeric characters followed by the file application extension. Documents are numbered consecutively as they are saved, meaning no two documents will have the same number.

Examples of document numbers:

00000001.DOCX

00000002.DOCX

00000003.XLSX

If you want to view Doc IDs in the file list, ensure that you are in the list view. (If you are in the tile view, simply click the Switch to list view  button.) Right-click in the gray area of the column header bar and select Insert Column.

Then select Doc ID from the context menu to view Doc IDs in the file list.
