Compare with compareDocs pull-down and right-click menu choices are active when one or more files are selected on the visible worklist.
• With only one worklist file selected, choosing any item on the Compare with compareDocs menu takes the first step in comparison, opening the pdfDocs compareDocs window. That selected document appears as the first (Original) comparison file.
• With more than two files selected, you are asked to choose two in a second pdfDocs compareDocs window.
Best practice is to select two documents before choosing a comparison option. With two documents selected:
• Select Email Comparison Report to create and email the comparison report.
• Select Load into compareDocs to open the pdfDocs compareDocs window.
• Select Save as New Document to create and save the comparison report as a new document in Worldox.
• Select Save as New Version to create and save the comparison report as a new version of an existing document in Worldox.
• Select Save as Related Document to create and save the comparison report as a document related to another file in Worldox.
• Select Save to My Computer to create and save the comparison report to a local or network drive.
• Select View Comparison Report to create and view comparison reports.
Note: Worldox allows you to select more than two documents in Worldox. However, before documents load into the pdfDocs compareDocs window, DocsCorp asks you to choose in a second pdfDocs compareDocs window; only two documents can be compared at any one time.
Using the compareDocs Productivity Suite module, you can compare Word documents (doc., docx., rtf.) There are certain limitations compared to the DocsCorp Professional version of compareDocs. In the Productivity Suite version, you CANNOT:
• Compare PDF to PDF
• Compare MS Word to PDF
• Compare image-based (scanned documents) PDFs
• Compare image-based (scanned documents) PDFs
