Save comparison as a new document

Selecting Save as New Document on the Compare with compareDocs pull-down or right-click menus runs a file comparison as last set up - or using default settings - in the pdfDocs compareDocs window. You then profile and save the selected report(s) into Worldox.

Notes:

If you are not sure which reports you’ll be viewing - or want to change report settings in the pdfDocs compareDocs window - please select Load into compareDocs on the pull-down or right-click menu instead.

When you save comparison reports, the requested reports are consolidated; you end up with the same information that would otherwise appear in separate files (when the viewing option is selected), combined into one file for profiling and saving into Worldox.

  1. Use the left-side navigation pane, search or other tools to find the files you want to compare.

  2. Select files for comparison.

  1. Select any two files on the worklist, then select Save as a New Document from the Compare with compareDocs pull-down menu. Or, select that same choice on a cascading right-click menu.

  2. If two or more files were selected, Worldox asks you to confirm your selection, in the Clarify Selection dialog. If you see this dialog, choose the appropriate option and click Continue.

Notes:

If only one file was selected, the pdfDocs compareDocs window opens. Select a second document for comparison, then click Compare and select Save into Worldox from the button menu to continue. When the Save As Options window opens, select A new document and click OK.

If more than two files are selected, you are asked to select two. (See Selecting Files for Comparison for details.)

As the comparison runs, you see one or more status windows, after which one or more Worldox profile dialogs appear.

  1. Then, depending on how profile groups and user access are set up at your site, you could see the Select Profile Group dialog, with a larger form underneath. In the Select Profile Group dialog, double-click the profile group to which file(s) are being saved, or highlight that listing and click Select in the toolbar.

With profile group selected, fields fill into the File Save dialog. Here is where you describe and characterize the comparison report file.

Next step:  Fill out the File Save form to finish profiling the  comparison report file, and save it as a new document in Worldox.

Save comparison as a new version
