Load documents into the pdfDocs compareDocs window

  1. Use the left-side navigation pane, search or other tools to find the files you want to compare.

  2. Select files for comparison.

  1. Select any two files on the worklist, then select Load into compareDocs from the Compare with compareDocs pull-down menu. Or, select that same choice on a cascading right-click menu.

  2. If two or more files were selected, Worldox asks you to confirm your selection, in the Clarify Selection dialog. If you see this dialog, choose the appropriate option and click Continue.

Notes:

You can start the comparison with only one file selected, then select the other one after the pdfDocs compareDocs window opens. (See Step 3 below.)

If more than two files are selected, you are asked to select two. (See Selecting Files for Comparison for details.)

As the DocsCorp application loads, you see one or more status windows, before the pdfDocs compareDocs window opens.

In the pdfDocs compareDocs window:

  1. Select or re-select files to be compared (optional).

You can re-select either file by clicking the Open button to the right of the top-of-window fields.

Select My Computer to browse through local drives via Windows Explorer.

Or, select Worldox to toggle back to the Worldox window. Double click any found file there to select it and return to the pdfDocs compareDocs window.

You can also click the down arrow  to the right of the Original or Modified field, to select from a list of recently-compared files.

  1. Select report type (optional).

Report type and reports included settings here are pre-set - either to default choices or to the settings last used in comparing files.

To change report type, click the down arrow  to the right of the Report Type field.

To re-select which reports you want, check one or more of the Include checkboxes. If you select Changes Only, additional reports cannot be selected. (Here are details on report types and options.)

  1. Select rendering set (optional).

The rendering set controls the style and characters used in tracking/formatting document changes. This field is set either to the default choice or to the setting last used in comparing files. To change rendering set, click the down arrow  to the right of the field.

Note:  For more on rendering set options, please consult the Help file provided by DocsCorp. Just select Help from the Help pull-down menu in the pdfDocs compareDocs window.

  1. Run the comparison.

Click Compare  to see comparison and output choices:

Note:  The Compare button may re-title itself based on recent actions taken. For example, if you just emailed a comparison report, the button might look like this:
