Email comparison reports

Selecting this choice on the Compare with compareDocs pull-down or right-click menus runs a file comparison as last set up - or using default settings - in the pdfDocs compareDocs window. You then save the selected report(s) to your desktop or local drive.

Notes:

If you are not sure which reports you’ll be viewing - or want to change report settings in the pdfDocs compareDocs window - please select Load into compareDocs on the pull-down or right-click menu instead.

When you save comparison reports, the requested reports are consolidated; you end up with the same information that would otherwise appear in separate files (when the viewing option is selected), combined into one file for profiling and saving into Worldox.

  1. Use the left-side navigation pane, search or other tools to find the files you want to compare.

  2. Select files for comparison.

  1. Select any two files on the worklist, then select Email Comparison Report from the Compare with compareDocs pull-down menu. Or, select that same choice on a cascading right-click menu.

  2. If two or more files were selected, Worldox asks you to confirm your selection, in the Clarify Selection dialog. If you see this dialog, choose the appropriate option and click Continue.

Notes:

If only one file was selected, the pdfDocs compareDocs window opens. Select a second document for comparison, then click Compare and select Email from the button menu to continue.

If more than two files are selected, you are asked to select two. (See Selecting Files for Comparison for details.)

As the comparison runs, you see one or more status windows. When the comparison is done, you see the Email Documents window.

  1. Select files and title your message.

  1. In the Email Documents window, the Subject field is filled automatically with the name of the comparison report document. You can change this subject line as needed.

  2. Note the names of the files listed in the Select Attachments field. These are the two compared files, plus the report document which has the same name as one of the other two. You may want to change this report file name to avoid confusion. To do so, just click within the file name; that opens the listing for changes.

  3. When you’re ready, select one or more files to email and click OK. That closes the Email Documents window and attaches the selected files to a new Outlook message:

  4.  Address and send the message in Outlook.
