The last icon on the row shows a Wrench to indicate that some type of customization is possible here. In the navigation panel, you can customize whether category buttons appear and reorder them in the order you prefer.

Click the Wrench  at the bottom of the navigation panel to display the Configure Tree Tabs dialog.

Check or uncheck boxes next to Select categories to show or hide category buttons.
