Worldox integrates with other applications in three ways:
• Macro integration
Uses the application’s built-in macro capabilities to integrate.
• ODMA
The Open Document Management API (ODMA) standard is supported, to varying degrees, by some word processors and other applications.
• "Soft popup”
A technique exclusive to Worldox, used when other means for integration are not feasible.
Note: Email applications are different. Worldox "cooperates" with supported email programs in unique and powerful ways, giving you several options for handling email.
The mechanics of application integration need not concern most users.
The only reason to mention integration here is that you may experience transitions somewhat differently, depending on the application being used. Opening or saving new Word or Excel files happens quickly. That's due to the efficiency of macro integration. Working with other applications, you may experience a slight lag in response before Worldox dialogs appear. Soft pop-ups take a fraction of a second longer to trigger action.
