Send-To > Add dialog

Used in creating Send-To shortcuts.

Notes:

This dialog was originally named Add Send To Target in Worldox GX and the first releases of GX2.

It takes a certain amount of preparation - and correct syntax - to fill out Send-To > Add dialog fields correctly. For more information and guidance, please refer to Sections 3.2.5.1 through 3.2.5.5 in the Worldox GX2/GX3 Administration & Configuration Guide, Volume II. This Guide is available for download on the Worldox Knowledge Base: http://support.worldox.com/MISC/M106.htm.

Field/Choice

Description

Description

Enter a descriptive label for the send-to target. This label appears in the right-click menu when users choose the send-to command.

Note:  There's a special syntax you can use in filling this field - to customize where added Send To items appear.

Shortcut

Click the down arrow to the right of the field to choose a shortcut key from the list provided. Once defined, pressing the shortcut key combination in Worldox starts the process of sending  the selected file(s) to this send to target.

Run

Enter the full path and file name of the target program's executable file. Define the path as you would for a standard Windows shortcut. Accordingly, it's generally safest to enclose the program specification in double-quotes, as follows:

"C:\Program Files\TextPad 4\TextPad.exe"

Or, click Browse to browse the list of Windows registered applications on your drives for existing applications.

Icon

Click to choose an icon for the new menu listing. That opens the Select Icon dialog.

Note:  Most .exe files include one or several icon choices. Not all do; it is possible to see no icons at all in the Select Icon dialog, or too many to display there. Please be aware that icons are not essential to the operation of Send To targets. If you cannot select an icon, the shortcut will still work.

Parameters

Enter any parameters required by the target program. Each program has its own parameter requirements. You can use the standard Windows substitution parameters: %1, %2, and so on, up to %9. Each of these percent parameters represents a single file from the Worldox worklist. If more than one file is checked when the send-to target is invoked, then they fill the percent parameters in top-down sequence, according to the sort order in effect when the send-to target is chosen by the user. If the number of files selected is more than the number of substitution parameters in the definition, then files are substituted up to the number of parameters specified.

Worldox provides a special parameter for passing a reference to a list of files: %@.

Registry Key

You can enter an optional registry key for Worldox to verify whether a program is installed on a user's workstation. If you provide a key that is not present in the Windows registry on a user’s workstation, then Worldox will not display the send-to target on the workstation.
