Locate the file you want to view. Use Find, Direct Access, Cabinets, Bookmarks, Favorites, Favorite Matters or Workspaces to quickly find file lists and files.
Tap a file name in the list to highlight it.
Touch the
iPhone Share
icon at the top right of the window.
Select one of the following:
Check Out and Open to open the file and to check it out of Worldox. If you select this, you will see a list of applications on your iPad which can open or accept documents. For example, if you want to open a PDF, you may see an Open in Dropbox option. Log in to Dropbox to view the PDF.
Note: Checking a file out means you are protecting it. Other users can open the file read-only in Worldox, but cannot make changes. This optional check-out feature keeps documents safe, but it does mean that you have to either check the changed file back in at some point, or clear the checked-out status manually. Otherwise, the downloaded file remains read-only in Worldox.
Open Read-Only to download a read-only to download a read-only copy of the original file, which then remains unchanged in Worldox. If you select this, you will see a list of applications on your iPad which can open or accept documents. Select an application to open the downloaded file in read-only mode.
Email to attach the file to a message so it can be opened in another application.
Send to iCloud Read-Only to download a read-only to download a read-only copy of the original file, which will remain unchanged as you view it. If you select this, you will see a list of applications on your iPad which can open or accept documents (for example, Google Drive, OneDrive or Dropbox).
Send to iCloud Checked Out to check the file out of Worldox and open it in an application such as Google Drive, One Drive or Dropbox. After checking it out with one of those apps, you can launch Word and change the file. Then you can use the Import Document feature on the main screen to check the file back into Worldox. For details, see Importing Documents.
The file is opened in whichever application you select.
Notes:
Opened files are not saved automatically. If you intend to do more than just view the file, be sure to save it. Use the Save As command to do so. Some applications (DocToGo being one such) discard the opened file without warning if you exit without saving it as a new document.
Here are instructions on how to return to Worldox from other iPhone programs.
