Device logs

If you call in for help, Support technicians may need to see device logs for your iPad iPhone in order to trouble-shoot the problem. Caution: Please do not turn on device logs unless directed by a technician to do so.

Device logs are maintained not on the iPadiPhone, but on whichever machine you are using to run iTunes. To access device logs, go to that machine and look for the appropriate folder. Here are the possible folder locations:

       Mac OS X

~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice/<your iPad’s iPhone's name>/

       Windows XP

C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Apple computer\Logs\CrashReporter\<your iPad’s iPhone's name>\

       Windows Vista

C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Apple computer\Logs\CrashReporter\MobileDevice\<your iPad's iPhone's name>\
