New in GX2: improved security

GX2 brings several changes in how document sets can be secured in Worldox:

The first notable change is a greatly improved security interface in the companion WDADMIN software, used by Worldox Managers and Administrators to customize security.

As part of the WDADMIN interface improvement, the process of setting up ethical walls is far easier. Ethical walls are essentially folder-based security restrictions, and are designed to prevent conflict of interest situations within firms. For example: A law firm limits access to documents relating to one or more matters for client A, to only those partners and staff working on those client matters. This ensures that other partners and staff - who could possibly be working for other clients whose interests are opposed to client A - cannot view sensitive material.

GX2 also provides several new and improved Admin-level tools for an easier-to-implement integration with Windows Active Directory. The net effect is that security groups and file-level access controls set in Worldox synchronize with Windows Active Directory seamlessly and transparently. Synchronizing security with Windows means that users denied access to a file in Worldox are also prevented from using Windows Explorer or other means  to circumvent Worldox security. This extends the power of Worldox security to the operating system (OS) level.

Note:  These new and changed features are beyond the scope of this Help file. If you have any questions about Worldox security, please contact your Worldox Administrator.
