History of WDInfo

The original WDInfo application was available to customers using GX2 earlier versions of Worldox. WDInfo was withdrawn from the Worldox line-up for redesign about the time that the Productivity Suite add-on became available in 2011.

Now WDInfo is available again for GX3 customers. It looks rather different than the original version - much simpler, with a redesigned screen and tabbed presentation. Aside from a new interface, the biggest change in the WDInfo is the capability to schedule recurring email status notifications about Indexer/database health.

What WDInfo Does

The redesigned WDInfo displays a comprehensive view of the current state of Worldox, of index databases and Worldox users. You can load WDInfo on any network workstation and run the program unobtrusively in the Windows notification area (system tray) so that it is available for real-time, continuous system monitoring. You can also schedule email status updates to one or more recipients, to make sure system health is monitored consistently.

WDInfo can benefit Worldox Administrators, Help Desk personnel, and MIS staff responsible for administering the firm’s network and Worldox in particular. WDInfo should prove especially valuable to administrators who maintain Worldox at more than one physical location, since it can show the status of all your Worldox resources at all sites in one convenient screen.

WDInfo provides up-to-the-minute information about the status of Worldox databases so you can immediately be aware of any index-related problems. WDInfo monitors and reports on the following Worldox system components:

Worldox users. Indicates which Worldox users are on-line, and whether they are running Worldox directly from the network or in mirrored mode.

Worldox databases. Lists for each database, its location, status, number of records, and when it was last updated.

Tip: When calling Worldox Tech Support, you should have WDInfo running. It helps the World Software technician to identify and resolve as many issues as quickly as possible.
