Custom Word Options Controlled by the Worldox INI

Related Topics

Worldox has a facility known as file stamping which can place a ‘stamp’ or reference in the footer of Word and Excel  documents. The initial configuration of the stamping feature is described in the Worldox Configuration and Administration guide. Once the stamp has been configured, all Worldox Word and Excel documents will have the reference inserted into the footer when they are saved if stamping is enabled.

As a result of client requests, we have added the ability to further control the stamping of documents and other Word features under specific circumstances. This document details the options available to modify or enhance the stamping of documents and other features that are available when using Microsoft Word and Excel 2003, 2007 and 2010.

Note: Some of these options are very esoteric and have been incorporated for dealing with very specific circumstances. You should consult with Worldox tech support or your Worldox VAR if you are unsure about the effect of any option.

Setting options for your site

The options detailed below are centrally controlled through setting options using WDADMIN with the /INI switch which will bring up a screen like this:

The options available will fall into common and version specific sections which are described below. To change an option, select it and either double-click the option or click on the toolbar edit icon.

Most options are either Yes or No selections, but in some cases you may need to type in a value such as the font size used in stamping.

As you select each item, additional information about the setting will appear next to the Parameter description in the upper part of the screen.
