Worldox automatically sizes worklist columns to fit the longest data elements displayed. There are ways to specify column widths on specific lists:
• Save, apply column templates
Until recently, there was no way outside of templates and styles to tell Worldox that you want column widths to stay as set, for the next session. Now a new preference setting (in the GX2 Productivity Suite and both GX3 and GX3 Productivity Suite) gives you a way to do just that.
Many users appreciate how Worldox automatically sizes columns as file lists open. Others do not; they would prefer to manually size and resize columns, and then have those column settings stay unchanged as a file list closes and re-opens.
This new preference gives you the choice. It allows you (if indeed you have the user rights to change preferences) to make column sizing manual if needed.
Worldox ships with this new "Column Headers Size Automatically" preference set to Yes. Leave it that way, and columns size automatically based on contents. Set it to No to make column sizing a completely manual process. To change preference settings:
Select Preferences > Worldox from the Edit pull-down menu. That opens the Edit > Preferences > Worldox dialog, where preferences are organized into categories.
In the Edit > Preferences > Worldox dialog:
Note: This choice may not be available to you. Only Worldox Managers have access to the Everyone tab.
Click the File List Options category in the left-side pane to open file list preferences in the right-side pane. (Here are descriptions of what those preferences control.)
Note the two columns in that right-side pane - Value and Default. Default lists the starting preference settings. Value shows the current value.
You are looking for the Column Headers Size Automatically setting in the right pane. To change it, double-click that listing to open the Change Value dialog.
In the Change Value dialog:
Set or reset the preference.
• Select Yes or Rely on Default Setting to have Worldox automatically size list columns based on the longest elements in those columns - unless that worklist format is controlled by an applied windows style and/or column template.
• Select No to tell Worldox not to resize list columns.
Click OK to make the change.
