Features and Enhancements
New WORLDOX Password Setting
You can now set and record passwords by running
WDADMIN.EXE /PW from the WORLDOX program folder on the network.
This will allow you to set passwords for the following actions:
- Enter WDADMIN
- Close DropZone
- Close WORLDOX
- Cancel WORLDOX to allow access to native dialogs
Mirror of
emails on Copy or Move to WORLDOX
WORLDOX will now mirror emails to the c:\zms
folder when you Copy or Move the email, either from the WORLDOX
Inbox or from the Copy and Move buttons on the Outlook toolbar.
Major WDIndex Upgrade
Important Note:To use this new indexer
the WORLDOX indexer PC MUST be running under a Windows 2000 or Windows
XP desktop. If your indexer is running under an older O/S please
do not apply SR-3 until this has been addressed.
The WORLDOX 2002 SR-3 indexer contains many very important new
features. With this version of the indexer you can reduce the amount
of time it takes to Init/ ReInit your TEXT index by anywhere
from 60-300%. The indexer logic has also been improved to better
qualify the data and skip over non- indexable file formats and damaged
files and reduce failures caused by this. It also enhances the details
and information found in the indexer log file (EVENT.LOG). As an
option, WDIndex also now has the ability to use a RAM drive for
local processing for those who really want to achieve even greater
reduction in build times of the TEXT database.
All the standard improvements engage by default automatically if
you are using WORLDOX 2002 SR-3 dated 4/23/04 or later
There are a few requirements to running this improved version of
the indexer
- Indexer PC must be running Windows 2000 or XP as O/S
- Indexer PC needs to be PIII or better
- Indexer PC must have 256 Meg of RAM or better
- Indexer PC must have a significant amount of free local disk
space on the indexer local C: drive. (About 15-20% of the
size of the total amount of data being indexed)
- Indexer PC must have a Windows swap file defined with a minimum
setting of 500MEG
Note: The 1 st Reinit after the upgrade
will take approximately the same time as previoius builds.
The performance gains will be seen on all subsequent Reinits after
the SR-3 code has been installed.
