What is a "Fail-Safe" Mission Critical Document Management System?

For this White Paper, we will define a DOCUMENT as a Container for Information (or an object) stored on a computer disk drive in an electronic readable format. We buy and use a micro-computer (a PC) to produce output, namely, "DOCUMENTS." It can responsibly be argued that "Documents" are one of the most important aspects of computing, i.e., hardware, Windows software, and Technology are but the means to the end. Output or DOCUMENTS are the end result or primary reason we do micro-computing in the first place.

DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT provides a framework within which you can intelligently, logically, and systematically organize and manage electronic documents created by word processors, spreadsheets, graphic programs, email and other applications. Document Management is a structured, systematic approach to controlling, describing, cataloging, storing, retrieving and sharing the information contained in your documents. We believe the application known as Document Management - if done right - is, and will become universally known as the "BACKBONE" or "GLUE" of many computer installations. If it achieves its potential, Document Management will become a primary application, or a "Killer App" like Email, Word Processing, etc.
