WORLDOX® Integrates with eCopy Desktop
Enables WORLDOX users to manage, annotate, and distribute scanned documents
Ridgewood, NJ - April 14, 2004 - World Software Corporation, a leading provider of
document management technology announced today that the WORLDOX Document Management
System now integrates with eCopy Desktop, the desktop component of the award-winning
eCopy family of products. Using eCopy Desktop, users can save digital copies of their
scanned paper documents, mark them up using annotation tools (stamp, highlight, add text,
underline, etc.), convert the image using OCR, and then mail, fax, or save the document
into WORLDOX.
“Integration with eCopy is beneficial for our firm because it enables WORLDOX to
seamlessly integrate with our Canon ImageRUNNER,” said Doug Stewart of Stewart,
Hood & Robbins, L.L.C. in Baton Rouge, LA. “Documents are scanned to a particular
user’s e-mail in either eCopy (CPY) or PDF format. When the user saves a document
in either format, WORLDOX takes over. This level of integration has allowed our firm
to operate on a near paperless level and drastically cut down on labor costs.”
The eCopy family of products enables any organization to transform paper documents
into information that is easily integrated into commonly used business applications
like WORLDOX. Using the eCopy products, companies can provide open access to
high-speed scanning from the office copier or scanner that connects to the company’s
e-mail, fax, document management system, and other networked enterprise applications
for low-cost, easy, instantaneous distribution and management of digital copies of
paper documents.
"The WORLDOX/eCopy integration delivers strong advantages for the end-user, allowing
paper documents to be easily saved and profiled in WORLDOX,” according to Tom Burke,
World Software’s President and CEO. “We believe that the integration with WORLDOX will
be very beneficial for our joint customers."
The eCopy Desktop integration is available with the current release of WORLDOX 2002, and
is also backward compatible with WORLDOX 2000. The integration allows WORLDOX to launch
whenever users open or save files in eCopy Desktop. In addition, WORLDOX will launch
during file activities such as importing, exporting, and inserting files.
“We have already experienced customer demand for the ability to integrate paper documents
into WORLDOX,” said Noel O’Dwyer, Director of Strategic Alliances for eCopy. “We are
pleased to offer customers an additional vehicle for adding value to their WORLDOX
document management system.
