New in GX3: Productivity Suite choices are visible even before upgrades

When the Productivity Suite was first introduced as an add-on for Worldox GX2, the new program (Worldox PS) was actually a separate application. This meant that reinstallation was necessary for customers upgrading to the Productivity Suite version of GX2.

That has changed in Worldox GX3. Now there is only one application, with add-on features turned on by unique license key. This greatly simplifies upgrades, and also makes possible another valuable feature - the ability to preview Productivity Suite features before upgrading.

Here's how previewing works:

GX3 ships with Productivity Suite modules already present. Access to these modules is controlled by unique license numbers.

Productivity Suite modules can be configured and set up by your Worldox Administrator or reseller as GX3 is installed, if the initial purchase includes those add-ons.

Even in the standard GX3 installation (no add-ons), pull-down menu and other screen choices for Productivity Suite tools are always visible. Those choices are active, meaning you can see and experience Productivity Suite modules before upgrading.

Note:  Productivity Suite choices will not appear if your Worldox Administrator has turned off certain preferences. So if you have questions about what you can or cannot see, talk to your Worldox Administrator.

If you do decide to upgrade, it's a simple matter of contacting World Software and getting a new license number.

The idea is to give customers a sense of how Productivity Suite tools work, and how they might provide benefit on the job.

Examples

Here you see the Workflows category of the Worldox navigation panel. Even if your company has not yet purchased the Productivity Suite, that content category and access button appear on your Worldox screen.

  1. Clicking either Inbox or Sent choices takes you to a preview question:

  1. Click Yes to go ahead and preview this feature, or click No to decline the preview.

  2. Clicking Yes opens the My Workflows dialog, where you can see how workflows are managed.

Because there are no sent or inbound workflow requests yet, this dialog will be empty.

If you preview the process of creating a workflow, you see that preview dialogs are active, and fully functional:

  1. Select Create on the Workflow pull-down menu. That opens a preview question similar to the one shown above.

  2. Click Yes to go ahead and preview. That opens a Did You Know? tip, with a short video on Productivity Suite features. When you close that dialog, you see the Workflow > Create dialog.

You can actually create a Workflow request here, to see how easy that is. However, when you click Begin to send the request, Worldox intervenes, reminding you to purchase the Productivity Suite:

If you have question, or want to find out more about the Productivity Suite and how it can help, please contact Worldox Sales. Or, contact your Worldox reseller.
